The half bridge IC is responsible for supplying varying current based on flow requests from the DME (the car's computer). This takes the brunt of the load and what causes thermal overload shutdowns on factory EKMP3s when using a larger-than-stock low pressure fuel pump. The factory half bridge is rated for a maximum of 33A at 60 seconds, but can only supply a sustained 17 - 18A before shutting down. Our upgrade allows for a maximum of 55A at 60 seconds and can supply a sustained 30+A without overheating*.
